SlimNiece started with a scared aunt, a 16-year-old girl, and a lot of bad advice on the internet.
Three years ago, my 16-year-old niece showed me a "what I eat in a day" TikTok that scared me. 800 calories. Excessive workouts. A distorted body image being presented as "healthy goals."
I panicked. I researched for months, spoke to paediatric nutritionists, and dug into the actual science behind teen weight management. What I found was frustrating: the good information existed, but it was buried under diet culture, conflicting advice, and content that had nothing to do with developing bodies.
The result of that research was a healthier, happier niece — and a lot of notes that I thought other families might need.
SlimNiece is those notes, turned into tools.

We never shame, blame, or pressure. Every piece of guidance is written with the understanding that health is emotional as much as physical.

Our calculators use established formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor, US Navy method). We cite sources. We update when research evolves.

Sustainable change is slow, boring, and unglamorous. We celebrate showing up three times a week, not hitting an arbitrary number on a scale.
